Introduction

The Talos Fellowship in Belgium is open to all nationals. This fellowship program was previously known as the EU Tech Policy Fellowship. It is an excellent fellowship for applicants interested in European Policy careers and AI. The international fellowship is an initiative of the Talos Network, an independent development organization focusing on AI policy careers in Europe. With the European fellowship, fellows can choose between different tracks and a combination of in-person and remote fellowships. This Tech Fellowship will select 15 to 25 people in the spring 2025 cohort to pursue a fellowship in Europe. The Talos Fellowship is for ambitious graduates who want to launch a European policy career around Artificial Intelligence.

It aims to prepare a new generation of European policymakers interested in emerging technology and AI. The fellowship includes two tracks: the training track and the placement track. The training track is an 8-week online training through the EU AI Policy Fundamentals Programme. This will also include a one-week-long in-person policymaking summit in Brussels, Belgium. The placement track is a full-time, 4-6 month placement at a European think tank. Therefore, it is a fantastic training program in Europe.

The Talos Fellowship will take place in Belgium and is the perfect opportunity for fellows to receive personalized training and support. Talos Fellows will be able to work in Europe and further their careers. Besides these two tracks, applicants can also express their interest in the International AI Governance Specialization within the program. It will offer an 8-week online EU AI Policy course, followed by a 7-day Brussels Summit, with assignments focused on the EU’s role in global AI governance.

Moreover, this fellowship program offers various benefits to all fellows. It covers all travel, accommodation, lunch, and breakfast costs. Placement track fellows will also receive a monthly stipend to pursue this fellowship in Belgium. Hence, applicants should definitely apply for this fellowship with a stipend. In addition, the Talos Fellowship Spring 2025 will start in January 2025. The best thing about this fellowship is that there is no age requirement, and it is open to graduates. However, the organization may accept applications from students who are still studying but expect to graduate within six months of completing the Talos Network Fellowship.
