Introduction

The Fully Funded METI Government of Japan Internship is open to all nationals. The METI Government of Japan Internship is offered by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). It is open to undergraduates and Graduate students from OECD/DAC countries. IELTS is not required and there is no application fee. Interns will be placed in different companies in Japan. If you are selected as an intern they will inform you about host companies that suit your skills and abilities. In 2023, 94 companies hosted 107 interns. The Japan Internship Program (JIP) will match the experiences, abilities, preferences, and requirements of the internship applicant with the host company. It is one of the best Internships in Japan.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Fully Funded METI Government of Japan Internship are stated below:

  • To Apply for the METI Internship, you must be a citizen of one of these countries.
  • You must be proficient in English.
  • 18 to 40 years old as of August 1, 2024.
  • If you are a student you must be able to show proof that you are studying.
  • For Students of University or Graduate School: a letter of recommendation by his/her academic advisor
  • For Graduates, a graduation certificate from a university or graduate school.

Responsibilities of Fully Funded METI Government of Japan Internship

  • The intern is responsible for developing an internship plan after discussing it with the manager.
  • Participate in pre-training, follow-up training, and a wrap-up presentation.
  • Submit various documents, notifications, reports, etc., before, during, and after the internship.
  • Participate in Japanese classes whenever possible if offered a permanent position at the internship host company.
