The Summer Student Program at HZDR in Germany is open to all nationals. It is an excellent opportunity for international students from all around the world to pursue research. Scholarship Benefits

  • Participants have the chance to build valuable connections with professionals, researchers, and fellow students during the HZDR summer program in Germany.
  • Moreover, students will receive a grant of 36€ per day, sufficient to cover everyday expenses.
  • All students will also get the chance to attend scientific lectures between weeks 31 and 35.
  • Similarly, they will have the opportunity to engage in individual discussions and meetings with their assigned supervisor.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • To be eligible, applicants should currently be a university student specializing in natural sciences (physical or life sciences) or related fields.
  • Holders of a Bachelor’s degree are eligible. However, they must have passed the third year of studies before the upcoming summer, which is a requirement of the HZDR Summer Program 2025 in Germany.
  • All students need to show proficiency in the English language to actively participate in all program activities.
  • Moreover, students should demonstrate good academic performance through their grades and previous records.
  • They should also possess a valid university enrollment that covers the entire duration of the program from July to September 2025, along with a valid student ID.
  • Applicants holding a master’s degree but not enrolled in a course, as well as PhD students, are not eligible for the HZDR Summer Student Program in Germany 2025.
  • Similarly, students with a contractual engagement at HZDR one year before 1 July of the target year are not eligible for the summer student program.
  • Selection of participants will depend upon the excellence of their curriculum vitae, academic grades, and the recommendation letter provided by a professor, group leader, or scientist from their university.
