Scholarship Description

The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies accepts applications for the Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship from all international students. The Young Leaders Program is a fully funded scholarship that allows recipients to study for a master's degree in Japan. The scholarship will pay for all of your educational costs.

The primary goal of the YLP is to develop future national leaders in Asia and other nations, as well as to create networks of these global leaders, fostering good ties among the member nations and raising the standard of public policy.

Scholarship Benefits

YLP MEXT Scholarship at GRIPS 2023 in Japan is a Full Free scholarship for Students from any part of the world to start their educational journey in Japan. It will cover all the necessary expenses to complete your degree. Details are given below:

  • All Application Fee
  • All Admission Fee
  • 100% Complete Tuition Fee
  • Monthly stipend: JPY242,000
  • An economy-class air ticket from your home country to Japan upon enrollment at GRIPS and an economy-class air ticket from Japan to your home country upon completion of your studies at GRIPS
  • Required field trip costs.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Applicant must be Non-Japanese from the country given below.
  • Must have Bachelors degree from a recognized university.
  • Candidate must be under 40 years of age as of October 1, 2022
  • Must have full-time professional experience of 3 years in Public Administration
  • Eligible countries for School of Government: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Kyrgyz Republic, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Viet Nam.
  • Eligible countries for School of Local Governance: Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Republic of Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Viet Nam
  • Students have to provide English Language Proficiency Certificate with a 6.0 in IELTS or a 79 score in TOBEL iBT.

To apply for YLP MEXT Scholarship at GRIPS 2023 in Japan candidates have to provide the following documents in hard copy:

  1. MEXT Application Form
  2. Bachelors degree Transcript
  3. Degree Certificates
  4. Valid Passport Copy
  5. Recommendation letter from employed company
  6. 2 letters of recommendation by your immediate superior at work or supervising
    professor of the university you attended
  7. English Language Proficiency Certificate
  8. Essays and Health Fitness Certificate.

To apply for YLP MEXT Scholarship at GRIPS 2023 in Japan applicants need to visit Japan Embassy in your country and should obtain an Application Form from them. Fill out the application form and attach the above-listed documents and submit that to Embassy.
