Scholarship Benefits

  • The YSC winner and finalists will attend the SME Assembly in Budapest, Hungary, from 18-20 November 2024.
  • During the Youth Startup Competition session at the SME Assembly, finalists will have to pitch their startup ideas live to the jury and audience.

  • Startups will receive recognition and validation of their startup concept on a European platform.
  • In addition, participating in the SME Assembly 2024 offers more than just exposure. It provides a valuable opportunity to network with potential investors and partners.
  • The event includes workshops, panel discussions and networking sessions where young entrepreneurs can gain insights, expand their knowledge and develop collaborations with industry experts.


Scholarship Eligibility

  • To apply for the Youth Startup Competition, applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old.
  • Entrants must be residents of any EU or COSME country.
  • Moreover, startups should follow the theme to be eligible for the YSC 2024. The Start-up idea should, therefore, promote sustainability and align with EU values.
  • If the start-up is a legal entity, it must be registered in an EU or COSME country.
  • Similarly, entrants will have to submit a short video (maximum 3 minutes) covering the concept of their start-up idea, the relevance of their idea today and a brief overview of their business plan.
  • Applicants will also be required to upload or send their ID card as a requirement for the European Union Youth Startup Competition.
  • Only one entry per applicant is allowed for this startup challenge.

Selection Criteria:

  • Creativity: Ideas should be innovative and original.
  • Originality: Ideas with the potential to attract public interest and media attention.
  • Communication: The presentation of the idea should be clear and compelling.
