The CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship in USA is open to all internationals. It is offered for postdoctoral research students. The Cancer Research Institute Irvington Fellowships supports qualified young scientists who are a part of leading universities and research centers worldwide and have a keen interest in receiving international training in fundamental immunology or cancer immunology. It promotes youthful researchers who aim to learn basic cancer immunology. A panel of scientists from the CRI Scientific Advisory Council evaluates each applicant, the expected sponsor and training environment, and the nature and feasibility of the proposed research project.

CRI seeks hypothesis-driven studies in both immunology and tumor immunology. The applicant and sponsor should make an effort to signify the potential of their proposed studies that can directly impact the organization’s understanding of the immune system's role in cancer. It promotes youthful, skilled researchers at the world’s major universities and resettlement centers to receive instruction in immunology and cancer immunology fundamentals. A committee of the science consultative board will evaluate each applicant. CRI is most interested in research that immediately affects the immunology of cancer. It funds promising young scientists to provide them with critical financial support and career training needed to pursue their work. It will provide training under the guidance of a world-leading and top immunologist, who mentors the fellows and prepares them for a successful career in cancer immunology. 

The benefits of the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship in USA are:

1. The fellows will get a stipend of $74,000 for the first year, $76,000 for the second year, and $78,000 for the third year.

2. In addition, they will also get an allowance of $5,000 per year allotted to the host institution/university, which can be used for the sponsor’s discretion and to pay for the fellow’s research supplies, travel to scientific meetings, childcare, and/or health insurance.

3. CRI allows fellows to attend CRI’s annual International Cancer Immunotherapy Conference (CICON).

4. Scholars can also participate in CRI’s soon-to-be-launched Bioinformatics Bootcamp.

The eligibility criteria for the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship in USA are stated below:

1. Applicants should have good knowledge of English.

2. Applicants from all over the world are eligible.

3. Applicants for the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowships must work in areas directly related to immunology or cancer immunology. The project must fall into the field of immunology with cancer-solving problems.

4. Applicants must have a doctoral degree by the start date of the CRI Irvington Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. They must conduct their research under a sponsor with a formal appointment at the host university.

5. Applicants with five or more years of postdoctoral experience in a relevant field are not eligible, except for M.D. applicants, who can exclude the years of residency in this calculation.

6. Only in some circumstances, applicants who have already passed 3 or more years in a sponsor’s laboratory by the start date of the CRI fellowship can be considered for the award.

7. The postdoctoral fellowship can be performed in the United States or abroad but must be at a non-profit institution. There are no citizenship restrictions.

8. Only one fellow per sponsor can apply per application round, and faculty sponsors can only have three CRI-supported fellows simultaneously.

6. Abstract of research in non-technical English which explains the importance of the proposed research and its potential clinical relevance (250 words only)

7. Aims of the project (only 1 page).

8. Concise research proposal (only 4 pages)

9. Letter from the sponsor

10. Sponsor’s CV /biosketch and a list of the sponsor’s current research support.

11. Two letters of recommendation are required.
