Introduction

The Karolinska Institutet Foundation Scholarships in Sweden is open to all nationals. It is offered for Bachelor's and Master's degrees in the fields offered by the university. The deadline for sending an application is 01 Oct 2024. This scholarship is provided by the Karolinska Institutet.

Applications may be submitted based on academic qualifications and/or financial needs. The scholarships are awarded from several different foundations based on proposals by a grant board.

Benefits

The amounts awarded generally vary between SEK 5,000 and SEK 20,000.

Eligibility

  • Applicants registered at the basic and advanced level at Karolinska Institutet are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have completed 1 year of study at KI to apply for financial need. 
  • For applicants looking for financial needs, the candidates not eligible for full student aid, or only eligible for partial aid are given priority.
  • Applicants with scientific experience, not just from projects or degrees, but also from basic to advanced education, and not doctoral students or PhD holders, can apply for scientific merits. 
    • The remaining period of study must correspond to at least 1 year.
  • Applicants must not be doctoral students or hold a PhD degree.

Others

Application Process

All eligible candidates must complete and submit the applications online through the KI Prisma system. The application should include the following components:

  • Transcript from Ladok
  • Proof of registration for the autumn semester of 2024 from Ladok
  • Certificate from CSN (or equivalent student grants from another EU country), stating that you are not eligible for student aid. 
    • For internationals not eligible for CSN, no certificate is required
  • Research plan (max 3 A4-pages)
  • In the supervisor's certificate, it must be certified that the applicant has carried out scientific work other than project work/degree work within the education at the basic or advanced level and is not a doctoral student/disputed student
  • Progress report for those previously awarded this grant.
