Introduction

The Hubert Larue Fund Scholarships at Laval University in Canada is open to all nationals. It is offered for Master's and PhD degrees in the field of French-speaking literature. The deadline for sending an application is 01 Nov 2024. This scholarship is provided by the Laval University.

The aim of the fund is to promote university teaching and research in the field of French-language literature by financing, in particular: scholarships for second and third-cycle students, research infrastructure, and the organization of student conferences.

  • One $7,000 scholarship (a doctoral grant that is given out in two installments)
  • Two $3,500 master's scholarships are available; the money is given in two installments.

Eligibility

  • Students should have undertaken, during the current calendar year, master's studies at Université Laval on a research subject whose major component is in the field of French-language literature, OR have undertaken, during the two last calendar years, doctoral studies at Laval University on a research subject whose major component is in the field of French-language literature.
  • Students need to be registered full-time at the time of application.
  • Students must not already benefit from a scholarship whose value equals or exceeds $8,000. Students who apply, for the following year, for a scholarship whose value exceeds $8,000 are eligible for the Hubert-LaRue scholarship for the current year.

  • A transcript copy (transcripts in capsule form are acceptable).
  • A 500-word essay outlining one's areas of interest in the study, the ideas that guide one's creative process, and reporting on findings from research and/or artistic endeavors.
  • A brief resume that highlights creative and/or research accomplishments.
