Introduction

The Doctoral Start-Up Grant - Simone-Paré Fund is open to all nationals. It is offered for a PhD degree in the field of Social Sciences. The deadline for sending an application is 01 Nov 2024. This scholarship is provided by the Laval University.

Intended for first or second-year doctoral students at the School of Social Work and Criminology at Université Laval, this start-up scholarship aims to encourage doctoral studies in group social work or other group work modalities in community organizations.

Benefits

The successful candidates are awarded an approximate sum of CAD 5,000. 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be registered full-time in a social work program.
  • Applicants must be in the first or second year of doctoral studies in the School of Social Work and Criminology.
  • Candidates should direct their thesis project in the field of social work of groups or other modalities of group work in community organizations.
  • Applicants must have completed the SVS-8000 Doctoral Seminar I course and the SVS-8001 Doctoral Seminar II course or be registered in this course at the time of application. Obtaining the scholarship will then be conditional on the successful completion of this course.

  • All eligible candidates must complete and submit the online form to be considered for the scholarship.
  • The application should include a copy of the 2nd and 3rd cycle transcripts.
