Introduction

With the aim of enabling students to pursue a PhD degree programme in the UK, Swansea University is actively offering an EPSRC PhD Scholarships in Design of Smart Materials.

This Swansea University International Scholarship will suit applicants who are keen to make a difference in how we utilize advanced materials in a sustainable economy. This PhD position is within the TREFCO project, which is a collaboration led by Swansea University and has eight industrial partners, including battery manufacturers, recyclers, material suppliers, and equipment producers.

Swansea University, founded in 1920, is a renowned research-intensive university with a strong academic reputation and an excellent academic environment. It offers approximately 330 undergraduate and 120 graduate-level courses.

This Swansea University International Scholarship covers the total cost of UK tuition fees and an annual stipend of £15,609.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities are eligible for this Swansea University International Scholarship.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree in Materials Engineering.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Candidates must normally hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University) in Engineering or similar relevant science discipline.

  • How to Apply: To apply for the programme, applicants must be admission to the PhD at Swansea University. After that, they can complete the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Monitoring Form for this award.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • CV
  • Degree certificates and transcripts
  • A cover letter including a ‘Supplementary Personal Statement.’
  • Two references
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree certificate with outstanding academic achievement for taking admission.
