New Zealand in support of the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA), is pleased to offer PhD Scholarships for students from developing countries.

This New Zealand Government Scholarship programme supports students from developing countries to come to New Zealand to work on research projects related to agricultural greenhouse gas mitigation.

ENZ is New Zealand’s government agency for building international education. They promote New Zealand as a study destination and support the delivery of education services offshore.  They also administer scholarships to support New Zealanders studying overseas, particularly in Asia and Latin America. They work closely with other New Zealand agencies to create an environment in which international education can grow and international students can flourish.

Scholarship Benefits

New Zealand Government will provide the salary for students to cover their educational expenses in New Zealand.

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Developing countries are eligible for this New Zealand Government Scholarship.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Doctoral degree in given subjects.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the given criteria:
  • Your PhD study must be conducted in New Zealand (not from a distance)
  • You cannot hold citizenship or permanent residency status in New Zealand or Australia
  • You can apply to one of the available projects.

Others

  • How to Apply: Applications must be completed and submitted exclusively via the Education New Zealand online application portal.
  • Supporting Documents: The following information must be provided, and documents must be uploaded to the application portal:
  • Evidence of citizenship for every country for which you hold citizenship
  • Meet the requirements to enrol for a PhD programme at the selected University
  • Academic transcripts, grading scale and certificate of completion
  • Page Motivation letter explaining why you would be the best candidate for the selected project
  • CV (maximum two pages)
  • Admission Requirements: Students must have a master’s degree with excellent marks.
  • Language Requirement: Aspirants must be proficient in written and spoken the English language.
