The Leakey Foundation is offering grants for advanced doctoral students and established scientists to pursue research related specifically to human origins. Leakey Foundation Research Grants are awarded twice annually (in May and December).

• Preference of funding is generally given to exploratory aspects of promising new research projects that meet the stated purpose of the Foundation.
• The majority of The Leakey Foundation’s Research Grants awarded to doctoral students are in the $3,000-$15,000 range.
• Higher grants are given to Post-doctoral students and senior scientists which may be funded up to $25,000.

• Advanced doctoral students and established scientists are eligible for Leakey Foundation Research Grants.
• Candidates from all nationalities are eligible provided that they are fluent in English 
• High school and undergraduate college students are NOT eligible for Leakey Foundation Research Grants.
