Introduction

The Fully Funded Herbert Scoville Jr Peace Fellowship in USA is open to all nationals. It is a highly competitive fellowship program. The fellowship is open to recent college and graduate school alumni. The program will provide them the funding and opportunity to work with senior-level and top policy experts at many leading think tanks and advocacy groups in Washington, DC. It aims to bring the knowledge, perspective, and passion of a diverse group of individuals into the world of DC to build expertise and resolve global conflicts. The Herbert Scoville Fellowship program duration is six to nine months. 

Scoville Fellows will create a project in partnership with their host organization. Each Scoville Fellow will be supervised and mentored at the host organization by senior-level staff. The projects will be related to four broad areas: nuclear nonproliferation and WMD, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, climate and security nexus, or emerging technology threats. Fellows will also help organize different conferences and talks sponsored by their host organization and participate in several advocacy activities. These activities may include the building of public awareness through outreach, participation in strategy, and crafting effective messaging on any issue. The fellows will attend policy talks, coalition meetings, Congressional hearings, and small group events with experts in government and NGOs arranged by the Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship program 2024.

It will allow them to work on policy issues and participate in meetings with experts. Furthermore, the international paid fellowship in the US will help them in their professional development. The Herbert Scoville fellows will receive active mentoring and networking from the international board of directors and former fellows. Many fellows of the Herbert Peace Fellowship Program have gone on to prominent positions in the field of peace and security with the Federal Government, academia, domestic and international NGOs, and media. The international fellowship allows students to participate in this international peacebuilding program two times a year.

The Fully Funded Herbert Scoville Jr Peace Fellowship in USA will provide:

1. The fellows will receive a monthly salary of $3,885.

2. Basic health insurance compensation will also be provided.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Fully Funded Herbert Scoville Jr Peace Fellowship in USA are stated below:

1. Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the past few years.

2. Applicants are required to have a baccalaureate degree completed by the time the paid fellowship in the USA commences.

3. Applicants should have a background and strong interest in any of the approved policy issues addressed by the fellowship.

4. Applicants must have excellent academic accomplishments.

5. Applicants should have good oral and written communication skills.

6. Having prior experience with public-interest activism or advocacy is highly desirable.

7. The fellowship program is open to United States (US) citizens living in the US or overseas.

8. Non-U.S. citizens can apply only if they live in the US and have a US work visa for the duration of the paid fellowship.

9. Non-U.S. citizens who are living outside the United States are not eligible for the fully funded fellowship program.

10. The Scoville Fellowship is not intended for students interested in pursuing their research independently in Washington, DC.
