2. The applicant's work should be applicable in the region.

3. The applicant's proposal should be innovative and examine critical conservation and environmental issues in unusual contexts or consider new approaches to the study or management of existing conservation and environmental issues.

4. The applicant's proposal should contribute new knowledge to the study or management of the issue examined.
