Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program

Scholarships in USA

The Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) is a prestigious international initiative designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of secondary school teachers from around the world. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and administered by IREX, this competitive fellowship provides educators with unique opportunities for professional development, cross-cultural exchange, and academic enrichment. Participants engage in a comprehensive six-week program at a U.S. university, where they take graduate-level courses in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and educational leadership. The program includes practical teaching experiences in local schools, allowing fellows to observe American classrooms and share best practices with their U.S. counterparts. Beyond academic components, TEA fosters global understanding through cultural activities and community engagement. Eligible applicants are secondary school teachers with at least five years of classroom experience who demonstrate a commitment to improving education in their home countries. The program covers all costs including international travel, accommodations, meals, and health insurance. Successful participants return to their schools with enhanced teaching strategies, new educational resources, and lasting professional connections that contribute to educational excellence worldwide. TEA represents a transformative experience that empowers educators to become leaders in their communities and advocates for quality education.
