Introduction

The Scholarship in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention in USYD is open to all nationals. It is offered for a PhD degree in the field of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Secondary Prevention. The purpose of this scholarship is to support Ph.D. candidates researching secondary prevention and cardiovascular rehabilitation financially. The NHMRC Synergy Grant, "Solving the long-standing evidence-practice gap associated with cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention of coronary heart disease" (SOLVE-CHD), is the source of funding for this scholarship.

Benefits

If excellent academic achievement is maintained, the scholarship will award a $10,000 annual stipend allowance for a maximum of three years. Extensions are not allowed.

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be enrolled full-time in a PhD program at the Faculty of Medicine and Health or have an unconditional offer of admission.
  • The candidate's PhD studies should not have taken longer than a year to complete full-time.
  • The candidate must be a master's or honors graduate in a related field.
  • The candidate must be open to conducting secondary prevention and cardiovascular rehabilitation studies.
  • The applicant must hold a primary scholarship with a stipend allowance from the University of Sydney.
