Applications are open for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at the University of Western Cape for the academic year 2025. The UWC Mastercard Foundation Scholarship 2025 supports academically talented and brilliant youth from South Africa and other continents in Africa. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UWC 2025 will provide fully funded scholarships for young scholars to study for their undergraduate or master’s degree qualifications from the University of Western Cape. If you are a brilliant student from South Africa and the African continent and want to pursue your studies in Africa for free, you should apply for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship 2025.

The University of Western Cape (UWC) is a partner of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. The Mastercard Foundation Scholarship was initiated in 2012. The fully funded Scholars Program is a global initiative that is designed to develop the future generation of transformative and motivated leaders by enabling highly talented, brilliant, service-oriented young people, mainly young Africans, to pursue their higher education free at the University of Western Cape, South Africa and brings up their leadership potential. The University of Western Cape Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2025 offers scholarships for some restricted fields, so the applicants must select any of those fields (details are given below).

Eligibility

Undergraduates:

  • Applicants must be from South Africa or the African Continent.
  • At the time of application, applicants must be 26 years old for undergraduate studies.
  • Applicants must meet the University’s minimum admissions requirements.
  • Applicants must have applied for academic admission 2025 to the University.
  • Applicants must be ready to start full-time undergraduate study in January 2025.
  • Applicants must be able to provide proof that their access to university studies is affected by social and economic barriers.

Postgraduate:

  • Applicants must be from South Africa or the African Continent.
  • At the time of application, applicants must not be older than 30 years for the master’s degree studies.
  • Applicants must meet the University’s minimum admissions requirements.
  • Applicants must have applied for academic admission 2025 to the University.
  • Applicants must be ready to start full-time master’s study in January 2025.
  • Applicants must be able to provide proof that their access to university studies is affected by social and economic barriers.
  • Applicants who want to register for a second master’s degree are not eligible for this UWC scholarship 2025.
