The University of Stavanger is eagerly awaiting applications from knowledgeable individuals for its PhD research fellowship in “Cost Reductions of Installations, Operations and Decommissioning for Offshore Wind.” The University of Stavanger International Scholarship is open for the academic year 2022-2203.

The students are required to have a relevant 5-year master’s degree and knowledge along with practical experiences. The candidates will be selected based on the eligibility criteria for the studentship. The winning candidates are entitled to receive a NOK 491 200 per annum for up to three years of their PhD study at the University of Stavanger.

The University of Stavanger will offer the selected candidates a PhD research fellowship in “Cost reductions of installations, operations and decommissioning for offshore wind” with a salary of up to NOK 491 200 gross per year for up to 3 years of study.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Students from all regions worldwide are eligible to apply for this University of Stavanger International Scholarship.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: The applicants must undertake a PhD study programme at the Department of Mechanical and Structural Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Stavanger.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have a solid knowledge of marine hydrodynamics and structures
  • The applicants must have a solid knowledge of automation and control system
  • The applicants must have developed skills in mathematical modeling and advanced programming.

  • How to Apply: Interested applicants can submit their applications via the online portal created by the university. All students that have applied and met the eligibility criteria will be considered automatically.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Project proposal
  • CV with a complete summary of your education and experience
  • References, certificates/diplomas, and other documentation that you consider relevant
  • Diploma Supplement or similar and a confirmed conversion scale if this is required
  • Documentation on competence in English, if this is required
  • Publications or other relevant research work
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must have completed a five-year master’s degree (3+2) within Marine Technology, Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Cybernetics, or Civil Engineering, preferably acquired recently, or possess corresponding qualifications that could provide a basis for completing a doctorate.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • TOEFL – 90
  • IELTS – 6.5
  • PTE – 62
  • Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) from the University of Cambridge
