Introduction

To provide international students with financial support, the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands has established its International PhD Positions in MM-Wave Electromagnetic Compatibility & Coexistence. Applications are now open for the academic year 2022-2023.

The purpose of this Eindhoven University of Technology International Scholarship is to support high-potential students who want to undertake a PhD degree at the department of electrical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology.

The Eindhoven University of Technology, abbr. TU/e is a public technical university in the Netherlands, around 14,000 students were enrolled in its BSc and MSc programs and about 1350 students were enrolled in its PhD and PDEng programs. It offers a bachelor’s program and four master’s programs and consists of several research groups focusing on long-term, general, system-oriented research. Over the last decade, TU/e has committed to gender equality within our academic community.

  • The university will provide all the following benefits:
  • A gross monthly salary and benefits (such as a pension scheme, pregnancy and maternity leave, and partially paid parental leave) under the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities.
  • Additionally, an annual holiday allowance of 8% of the yearly salary, plus a year-end allowance of 8.3% of the annual salary.
  • Should you come from abroad and comply with certain conditions, you can use the so-called ‘30% facility’, which permits you not to pay tax on 30% of your salary.
  • A broad fringe benefits package includes an excellent technical infrastructure, moving expenses, and savings schemes.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities are eligible for this Eindhoven University of Technology International Scholarship.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree in MM-Wave electromagnetic compatibility & coexistence.
  •  Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Besides good subject knowledge, emphasis will be on creative thinking, motivation, ability to cooperate, an initiative to work independently and personal suitability for research training.
  • Previous experience in electromagnetic theory and measurement techniques is required.
  • Proficiency in using scientific and engineering software packages such as Python, MatLab, ADS, CST etc., are advantageous.
  • A research-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to work in a team and interested in collaborating with industrial partners of InnoStar.

  • Cover letter in which you describe your motivation and qualifications for the position.
  • Curriculum vitae, including a list of your publications and the contact information of three references.
  • Brief description of your MSc thesis.
  •  Admission Requirements:  Applicants should have or expect to receive a master of science degree or equivalent in relevant electrical engineering or applied physics discipline.
  • Language Requirement: All international students must have fluent in spoken and written English.
