Introduction

The Fully Funded DAAD University Summer Courses in Germany are open to all nationals. DAAD funds the summer courses offered by German universities to foreign students and graduates. The objective of the DAAD University Summer Courses is to deepen knowledge of the German language (General language, technical language) and regional studies among international students. These summer courses are offered by German state-recognized universities. Bachelor and master’s degree students from all disciplines are eligible to apply.

Benefits

  • Tuition fee for the German Language course, regional studies, and technical language courses.
  • One-time scholarship payment of 1,192 euros
  • Students from the least developed countries will get a scholarship amount of 1,367 euros.
  • A travel allowance
  • Health, accident, and personal liability insurance.
  • The course fees and accommodation costs are usually directly deducted from the scholarship benefits.

Eligibility

  • Enrolled Undergraduate and Master’s degree students can apply.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Students from any academic discipline can apply.
  • Undergraduate students must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study before the start of the summer courses in Germany.
  • The language of the course is German.
  • Applicants must provide proof of a minimum language level of A2.
  • You can choose three-course preferences in the online application.

  • Curriculum Vitae (in tabular form, in German)
  • Letter of Motivation (in German)
  • Transcripts of all university examinations taken in the last two years, with individual grades (with German or English translation)
  • For Undergraduate students: School leaving certificate with grades (with German or English translation)
  • For Graduate students: University degree certificate with final grade/s (with German or English translation)
  • Language Certificates (with German or English translation, if applicable)
  • Additional Documents (if necessary, with German or English translation), such as proof of internships or certificates of employment.
