To attract outstanding foreign students in China, the China University of Petroleum has announced the China University of Petroleum Scholarships for the academic year 2022-2023.

The China University of Petroleum has established this scholarship for overseas undergraduate students. This China University of Petroleum International scholarship is open for all majors offered at the university. The students that will be selected will be provided tuition fee exemption, accommodation, health insurance, and a monthly allowance.

Founded in 1953, The China University of Petroleum is a state Double First-Class University in China and is a national key university directly affiliated with China’s Ministry of Education. The China University of Petroleum is in a leading position in the petroleum and petrochemical disciplines in China.

The undergraduate students that will be shortlisted and finally selected by the China University of Petroleum to be awarded this scholarship will be provided the following benefits:

• Eligible Countries: All non-Chinese students are eligible to apply for this China University of Petroleum International scholarship.
• Eligible Course or Subjects: Applicants can apply for an undergraduate programme offered at the China University of Petroleum.
• Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
• The applicants must be non-Chinese citizens.
• The applicants must be healthy, law-abiding, and have no criminal record.
• Be a high school graduate under 25 when applying for undergraduate programs.

• How to Apply: Students can first submit their admission application on the official portal of CUP. All eligible students will be considered automatically.
• Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
• Scanned copies of all China visa pages and China entry and exit record pages, passport photos with white background, photo size 480×720
• The highest academic certificate and transcript
• Study and research plan
• Foreigner Physical Examination Form (Health Certificate) (Laboratory report must be attached)
• Certificate of no criminal record
• Two recommendation letters
• Acceptance letter from supervisor
• Admission Requirements: The applicants must be high school graduates under the age of 25 to be eligible to get admitted to an undergraduate programme at CUP.
• Language Requirement: Applicants for undergraduate programs need to provide IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 75 or above, or proof of language proficiency at the corresponding level. Applicants with strong Chinese proficiency are preferred. Undergraduate programs require applicants to have Chinese proficiency of 222 or above at the HSK-4 level.
