Introduction

The ASEAN Tourism Scholarship is offered to nationals of ASEAN member nations who wish to pursue postgraduate research studies (Master's or PhD) in fields connected to or important to ASEAN tourism. The research focus should be consistent with the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP) goals.

Benefits

The benefits of the Fully Funded ASEAN Tourism Scholarship at Taylor's University in Malaysia are:

For Master's Applicants:

  • 75% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 24 months (full-time study)
  • Monthly stipend of RM 1,500

For PhD Applicants:

  • 100% tuition fee waiver for a maximum of 36 months (full-time study)
  • Monthly stipend of RM 2,300
  • Conference allowance of RM 3,000

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Fully Funded ASEAN Tourism Scholarship at Taylor's University in Malaysia are stated below:

For Master's Applicants:

  • This opportunity is open to only ASEAN member countries.
  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a CGPA ≥ 3.00 from any recognized local/foreign university
  • Applicants must submit a Research proposal that must be relevant to the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan(ATSP) 2016-2025 priority areas.

For PhD Applicants:

  • This opportunity is open to only ASEAN member countries.
  • Degrees from any accredited local or international university: Bachelor's with CGPA ≥ 3.33 and Master's (Coursework / Mixed mode) with CGPA ≥ 3.50 or by Research mode
  • The study proposal needs to be pertinent to the priority areas listed in the ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan (ATSP) for 2016–2025.
