Introduction

The AAUW International Fellowship in USA is open to all nationals. It is for women who are not United States Citizens to pursue full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States. The fellowship is open to women from all countries who want to complete their studies at accredited U.S. institutions. A limited number of fellowship awards are also available to women who are members of Graduate Women International (see the list of GWI affiliates) to complete a degree program from outside the USA.

Benefits

  • Master’s/first professional degree: $20,000
  • Doctoral: $25,000
  • Postdoctoral: $50,000

These funds are available for the:

  • Educational Expenses.
  • Living expenses. Dependent child care. 
  • Travel to professional meetings, conferences, or seminars that do not exceed 10% of the fellowship total. 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree by the application deadline.
  • Previous recipients of any AAUW fellowship can not apply.
  • Unsuccessful applicants may reapply.
  • If you are a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or have dual citizenship with the U.S., you cannot apply for this fellowship.
  • They must return to their home country to pursue a professional career upon finishing their studies.
  • Submit the English proficiency scores such as IELTS, TOEFL, or any other.
  • International Fellowships are open to women, including people who identify as women, in all fields of study at accredited institutions of higher education or, for postdoctoral fellows, research. AAUW will decide which institutions meet the eligibility criteria.
