The University of Kent has decided to award two academically excellent PhD students the Migration and Movement Signature Research Theme PhD Scholarships in the UK for the academic year 2022-2023.

This University of Kent PhD International Scholarship is a mix of the Abdulrazak Gurnah Doctoral Scholarship and Migration and Movement Doctoral Scholarship, which will cover the overseas and home tuition fees. Selection will be based on academic merit. The scholarship is valued at £15,609.

The PhD candidates selected for this University of Kent PhD International Scholarship will be provided home/overseas tuition fees with an annual stipend of £15,609.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Home country and foreign national students are eligible to apply for this University of Kent PhD International Scholarship.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD programme at the University of Kent is eligible to apply for.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must meet the individual schools’ entry requirements.

  • How to Apply: Students must first complete their admission application on the university portal. Candidates who wish to be considered for this scholarship will need to send an email entitled ‘Migration and Movement SRT Scholarship’ to [email protected], adding their Kent supervisor(s) in CC.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Research proposal
  • CV, entitled
  • Cover Letter
  • Two academic references
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must hold a good Honours degree (First or 2:1) and a Master’s Degree (at Merit or Distinction) in a relevant discipline from an internationally recognized institution or equivalent experience in a professional setting.
  • Language Requirement: The students must submit scores of the following English language proficiency tests:
  • IELTS – 6.5
  • CAE/CPE – 176
  • PTE –62
  • TOEFL IBT – 90
