Eligibility
To be eligible for the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program in USA, applicants must fulfil the following requirements.
- The candidates should be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
- The applicants for Robertson Scholars Leadership Program, 2021 should enter for the Year 13 senior schools examination such as NCEA Level 3, Cambridge exams or an equivalent senior school exam.
- The candidates should have completed five years of secondary schooling in New Zealand.

Documents required:
- The applicants for Robertson Scholars Leadership Program in USA should submit proof of New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, academic records, and a statement describing their activities, achievements, positions of responsibility.
- The candidates should submit two statements about where they see themselves in ten years and how they have been a leader in 500 words each.
- The applicants are expected to submit two references and the names of two referees. One reference should describe academic achievements and interests. The other reference should be from a person who can comment on the applicants' participation in extracurricular activities.
- The candidates should also submit a statement mentioning why they want to study at the two universities and the proposed course of study in 300 words.
- The applicants should apply for admission to Duke and/or UNC-Chapel
- Hill by the university prescribed deadlines.
- The candidates will not be considered for the scholarship if they have not applied to the university.
Selection Criteria:
- The applicants for Robertson Scholars Leadership Program, 2021 will be assessed based on their performance in NCEA Level 3 and NZ Scholarship, leadership experience, and potential.
- The candidates will also be evaluated on the basis of community service commitment, strong ethical principles, and a collaborative spirit.
