The Robertson Scholars Leadership Program in USA is offered to applicants who strive to make contributions to society. The program is offered at Duke University and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

The successful applicants of the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program in USA will receive:

• • Full tuition fees.
  • Room, and board at the Duke University or the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

To be eligible for the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program in USA, applicants must fulfil the following requirements.

• The candidates should be citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
• The applicants for Robertson Scholars Leadership Program, 2021 should enter for the Year 13 senior schools examination such as NCEA Level 3, Cambridge exams or an equivalent senior school exam.
• The candidates should have completed five years of secondary schooling in New Zealand.

Documents required:

• The applicants for Robertson Scholars Leadership Program in USA should submit proof of  New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, academic records, and a statement describing their activities, achievements, positions of responsibility.
• The candidates should submit two statements about where they see themselves in ten years and how they have been a leader in 500 words each.
• The applicants are expected to submit two references and the names of two referees. One reference should describe academic achievements and interests. The other reference should be from a person who can comment on the applicants' participation in extracurricular activities.
• The candidates should also submit a statement mentioning why they want to study at the two universities and the proposed course of study in 300 words.
• The applicants should apply for admission to Duke and/or UNC-Chapel
• Hill by the university prescribed deadlines.
• The candidates will not be considered for the scholarship if they have not applied to the university.

Selection Criteria:

• The applicants for Robertson Scholars Leadership Program, 2021 will be assessed based on their performance in NCEA Level 3 and NZ Scholarship, leadership experience, and potential.
• The candidates will also be evaluated on the basis of community service commitment, strong ethical principles, and a collaborative spirit.
