Introduction

The KFAS-Salzburg Global Leadership Program in Austria is open to all nationals. The theme of this year’s program is “Connecting Technologies”. This initiative calls for inclusive policies and creative leadership to fill the gap between the potential of technology and fair access and benefits for everyone. Fellows will have an incredible experience while working on new problems and challenges faced by today’s modern world.

An annual group of 30- 35 people of professionals and practitioners from different backgrounds and areas can take part in this initiative depending on the program’s sub-themes. Every group will actively discuss the problems, trends, opportunities for the future, and effects of the main issues in each sub-theme. This leadership program for international fellows encourages applications from policy experts who are enthusiastic about examining the connections between technology and the advancement of society, governance, equality, security, and environmental sustainability.

The sub-themes of this international Leadership initiative include Technology growth and inequality caused by AI (Artificial Intelligence), Big Tech and Governance: Market Power and Regulation, Technology Ecosystem: Talent and Innovation, Economic Security: Technology Competition and Weaponization of Tech, and Technology and Sustainable development. Global inequality is increasing by AI, as industrialized nations gain greater benefits from technology than emerging ones. The program will focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN), which highlight technology’s role in attaining environmental sustainability. They advocate for a well-rounded strategy that maximizes technology’s potential while minimizing its ecological effect.

KFAS- Salzburg Global Leadership program is a hybrid program with both online sessions and a 5-day on-site program in Salzburg, Austria. The host institute will cover the transportation, accommodation, and meals cost. It is a wonderful opportunity for tech enthusiasts to work and collaborate with like-minded people to devise tech-friendly solutions to the prevailing problems in communities.
