The learning abroad program must include a minimum of 100 hours dedicated to onsite research.

The award amount for each term is up to $2,000.

Eligibility

  • During the term abroad, the applicant must be enrolled as a degree-seeking undergraduate student on the Rochester or Twin Cities campus.
  • The applicants must maintain excellent academic standing.
  • The applicant must continue enrolling in the minimum number of program credits as specified by the study abroad program.
  • The applicant must be classed as an international student.

Application Process

  • All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.
  • The candidates must confirm their program is on the list of eligible Learning Abroad Center programs involving a research project.
  • The candidates must discuss their research project with the program adviser.
  • The program adviser will confirm that the overseas site will agree to the project before submitting the international I-UROP application.
  • The program adviser will add the I-UROP scholarship application to their program application checklist.
  • The candidates must submit a response to the essay.
