Benefits

University of Newcastle PhD International Studentship programme will provide 100% tuition fees at the Home/UK rate and a tax-free stipend of £15,609 per year. Depending on available funding, international/EU fees applicants may also be covered. A desktop computer and a £1500 travel allowance will also be provided.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: Applications are accepted from around the world for this University of Newcastle PhD International Studentship.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree programme in Modelling swimming microbes for the environment and green biotechnologies.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Applicants should have or expect a first-class or high 2:1 honours degree in Mathematics, Physics or another relevant discipline. A master’s qualification in a relevant subject area will be highly advantageous.
  • The studentship covers fees at the Home/UK rate. However, international/EU applicants will also be considered and if funding is available may have the difference between Home and International fees covered.

  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must submit the following documents: email expressing their interest scanned copies of their academic transcripts, CV, a brief statement of their research interests, and a proposal that specifically links them to the research project.
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission, students must have to check the entry requirements of their chosen program.
  • Language Requirement: Applicants whose first language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each subsection. International applicants may require an ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) clearance certificate before obtaining their visa and to study on this programme.
