Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Fully Funded Royal Academy of Engineering Fellowship in UK are stated below:

1. Required Language: English.

2. Eligible Countries: All World Countries.

Broadly speaking, we support:

 

1. Researchers wishing to spinout a company from a university

2. Recent graduates seeking to found a startup

3. International Ph.D. students (already based in the UK) wanting to spinout or startup

You meet our key eligibility criteria if:

1. The Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of your solution is 4 or above

2. Equity investment in your business is less than 500,000 GBP

3. Your innovation is protectable, and you own or co-own the IP

4. Within the founding team, you own the highest equity stake in the company

5. You are, or have the ambition to be, the CEO or COO of the business

6. For startups: you are not a student or otherwise employed during our program

7. In addition for startups: you have completed your very first university degree by 1 July 2018

8. For spinouts: you are currently employed by the university

9. If relevant, your Ph.D. viva will be held no later than 30 November 2023
