Introduction

The Fully Funded Quebec Government Masters Scholarships is open to all. The aim of the program is to:

1. Contribute to supporting the next generation of students working in various research environments in natural sciences, mathematical sciences, and engineering (FRQNT); 

2. Promote the attraction of new students in fields related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), a sector in high demand in Quebec;  

3. Stimulate interest in research among the next generation of French-speaking students, both Canadian and international; 

4. Support excellence in research by financially assisting the best candidates from the Francophonie to undertake or pursue a research master’s program in a French-speaking university in Quebec.

Benefits

The benefits of the Fully Funded Quebec Government Masters Scholarships are:

1. The annual value of the master’s scholarship is $20,000.  

2. The maximum allocation is 6 payments (6 sessions) totaling $40,000.   

3. Installation allowance supplement: The purpose of the installation allowance supplement is to make the installation of students in Québec financially accessible. The maximum value of this supplement is $6,000 for year one exclusively.  

4. Supplement for health insurance and travel expenses: The FRQNT reimburses the cost of health insurance coverage offered by the university in Quebec up to a maximum of $1,000 per year and travel costs in economy class between the country of origin and Quebec (round trip) up to a maximum of $5,000. 

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Fully Funded Quebec Government Masters Scholarships are stated below:

1. Applicants must meet all eligibility conditions in effect at the time of application submission according to the program rules and the RGCs.  

2. An unrounded cumulative undergraduate GPA (equal to or greater than 3.55)  or

The equivalent of his 1st studies

Applications with a lower score are not eligible.  

In the case of a career change, grades obtained in irrelevant diplomas are not considered. However, all diplomas serving as a basis for admission are considered relevant in calculating the average and must accompany the application. 

3. Must not have obtained university credits in Quebec

4. Must have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in the OIF member country of which he is a citizen under section 3.2; 

5. The establishment chosen to conduct the research or training must be a French-speaking university in Quebec.

How To Apply:

The 2024-2025 electronic application form is made available on the Fund’s website at least one month before the competition deadline and must be transmitted electronically no later than the Fund’s competition deadline. 

The financing request must be written in French.  

Consult the Standards for Presentation of Attached Files in the FRQnet Electronic Portfolio for the files to attach to the form.  

All required documents must be included in the application for it to be considered eligible. Documents that are illegible, of low resolution, or do not allow the admissibility of the request to be made will be rejected. 

Any official document submitted in a language other than French or English must be accompanied by a professional translation certified as true to the original. With regard to the language in which the form and the documents submitted are written, consult Article 3.6 of the Common General Rules
