Introduction

Norwegian University of Life Sciences is looking for a motivated PhD candidate to study the importance of leptospirosis in dogs and humans in Norway and its impact as a travel disease. Interested candidates can apply for the PhD Scholarships in Infection Biology – Leptospirosis and One Health for the academic year 2022-2023.

This Norwegian University of Life Sciences International Scholarship is offered by the Departments of Preclinical Sciences, Paraclinical Sciences and Companion Animal Clinical Sciences at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) for up to 3 years of study. All students that have a relevant degree qualification are eligible to apply. Selected candidates will be offered a PhD position with a salary of NOK 501.200.

Eligibility

  • Eligible Countries: International and domestic students are eligible to apply for this Norwegian University of Life Sciences International Scholarship.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for the PhD programme offered at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must have a strong interest in One Health and microbiology.
  • The applicants must have previous laboratory experience including bacteriological and/or immunological methods.
  • The applicants must have prior experience in small animal clinical practice is an advantage.
  • The applicants must have proficiency in a Scandinavian language, both written and spoken.

  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • Letter of intent
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • (Electronic) copies of degree certificates and transcripts of academic records (all certified)
  • List of two persons who may act as references (with phone numbers and e-mail addresses)
  • Admission Requirements: Students must are required to hold a degree in Veterinary Medicine eligible for Norwegian veterinary authorization.
  • Language Requirement: The students must provide Proof of English proficiency in accordance with NMBU guidelines.
