The Fully Funded KAIST University Graduate Scholarship in South Korea is open to all nationals. The applications are open to apply for the KAIST University Graduate Scholarship for the Fall 2024 intake (Regular Track). The Fall intake will start in September 2024. KAIST University is accepting applications for Graduate degree programs such as Master’s and Ph.D. degrees.

KAIST is a highly-ranked public university. Many international students are studying in Korean universities. The Korean government aims to attract 300,000 international students.  The scholarship duration for a Master’s Degree is 2 Years while it is 4 Years for a Ph.D. degree depending on the program.

KAIST University offers various types of scholarship programs. All the KAIST graduate degree programs are supported by the KAIST Scholarship and (KGPS). The types of scholarships available in a KAIST university are:

Benefits of the KAIST University Scholarship

  • Total Tuition Fee Exemption for 4 semesters for Master’s degree candidates, 10 for Master’s-Ph.D. integrated degree candidates, and 8 semesters for Ph.D. degree candidates.
  • Monthly Stipend Guarantee: KRW 350,000 for Master’s programs and KRW 400,000 for Ph.D. programs
  • Monthly National Health Insurance Premium
  • Many students do part-time jobs here in South Korea for Fun, time passes, and to make more money.

 

Benefits of KAIST Global Presidential Scholarship (KGPS)

  • Full Tuition Grant: 4 semesters
  • Monthly Stipend Guarantee: KRW 1,000,000 for four semesters

 

Benefits of the GKS (Global Korea Scholarship)

This is a Korean Government scholarship program. And currently, as of (4th March 2024), it is open for graduate degree programs.

The GKS program covers airfare, monthly allowance, settlement allowance, language training fee, and tuition.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Fully Funded KAIST University Graduate Scholarship in South Korea are stated below:

  • Only international students who do not hold Korean citizenship can apply.
  • You need to show proof of a bachelor’s degree if you are using it for the master’s or master’s Ph.D. degree program application.
  • You need to show Master’s degree proof if using for the Ph.D. degree program application.
  • Over 80 to 90% of lectures are offered in English.
  • English Language Proficiency Required Grades:
    • TOEFL iBT: 83
    • IELTS: 6.5
    • TOEIC: 720
    • TEPS: 326
