Introduction

The Fully Funded Government of Ireland Scholarships is an established nationwide initiative, funded by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, and overseen by the Council.

Distinguishing itself within the realm of Irish research, the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme complements other avenues of funded postgraduate education in the country. Notable features include personalized and prestigious awards tied to the applicant's name, an impartial selection process utilizing international expert peer review, funding spanning a diverse array of disciplines, and support for unguided, original research, except for projects funded by strategic partners. Innovative proposals that tackle emerging research domains or introduce creative methodologies are actively encouraged. The program places a premium on interdisciplinary proposals, recognizing that the advancement of foundational knowledge often involves the integration of perspectives, techniques, and information from multiple fields.
