The Fully Funded FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship is open for selective country citizens. The funding is provided due to the Agreement between FAO and Hungary in 2007. It will support students from eligible countries with the funding required for postgraduate studies at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences. This program will help students from developing countries to study and learn at international universities. If you are a graduate and want to start a master’s in agriculture or biotechnology, this fully funded Hungary scholarship is for you!

This scholarship includes two programs for masters in the English language, i.e., Master in Agricultural Water Management Engineering and Master in Biotechnology.  It is a merit-based scholarship. International students with excellent academic records are welcome. The selection process is very competitive. Selection is made in two phases. In the first phase, FAO will preview the applicants and apply with complete documents to the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary. Then, these applications are transferred to the university. The university will finalize the selected applicant without FAO involvement.

1. Eligible Regions: Egypt, Burkina Faso, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Congo, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Georgia, Jordan, Gambia, Afghanistan, Kingdom of Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Laos, Mongolia, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, North Korea, Bangladesh, Algeria, Albania, Azerbaijan, Angola, Armenia, Chad, Belarus, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Kenya, North Macedonia, Madagascar, Namibia, Mali, Cabo Verde, Philippines, Serbia, South-Sudan, Somalia, Sudan, Tajikistan, State of Palestine, Turkmenistan, North Macedonia, Myanmar, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, VietNam, Yemen.

2. Applicants should have excellent academic achievements.

3. Students who must be under 30 will be preferred.

4. Applicant should be proficient in English because courses will be taught in English.

5. Applicants should be motivated.

6. The student applying for the FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship 2024 should have good health.

Required Documents:

1. The application form should be filled out completely and on time.

2. Applicant’s recent resume or curriculum vitae (CV)

3. A copy of the applicant’s high school/university/college diploma and transcript of study or copy of the diploma result.

4. A copy of the English proficiency certificate.

5. Copies of certain passport pages show the passport number and expiration date.

6. Applicant’s letter of recommendation.

7. Applicant should provide a Statement of motivation or essay for the program.

8. Health certificate issued by a doctor.

9. Certificate of Good Conduct of the applicant issued by a local police authority.

10. Applicants should prepare a single file containing all the supporting documents in English. Only a complete file will be considered for application and should have a name.
