Introduction

The Fully Funded Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Scholarships at UQ in Australia are open to Australian nationals. It is offered for a PhD degree in the fields offered by the university. The deadline for sending an application is 31 Mar 2025. This scholarship is provided by the University of Queensland (UQ).

These scholarships include a living stipend to support the candidates as they complete a research project for their Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy, or a research-focused professional doctorate at UQ.

Benefits

Selected candidates are awarded a sum of AUD 45,000 per annum and the tuition fees.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Applicant must be studying full-time and onshore in Australia.
  • Applicant must be nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ.
  • Applicant must be assessed by the Graduate School as meeting all conditions for admission to the higher degree by research program.
  • Applicant must not qualify for the same or a higher level than the higher degree by research program.
  • Recipients of Commonwealth-funded tuition fee scholarships are not eligible.
