Scholarship Description

The Fulbright Tampere University Graduate Award in Finland is open to US citizens to pursue their Masters Degree Program from Finland. The Finland foundation and the university are working together on this award to support students from the USA who wish to complete a master’s degree.

At Tampere, aspirants get support from both the two merger universities. They will get an excellent environment to study and many workshops for enhancing talent and developing their personality. Founded in 2019, Tampere University is a merger between the University of Tampere and Tampere University of Technology. It is a Finnish university and focuses on the development of applied science.

Scholarship Benefits

  • The Fulbright Graduate Award gives a monthly grant of EUR 1,000 for nine months. 
  • A travel award of USD 1,600
  • A residence permit allowance (covers actual permit fees for the recipient and family members, funded by the Foundation)
  • Supplemental accident and sickness insurance (ASPE).
  • Tampere University, in agreement with the Fulbright Finland Foundation, offers a scholarship to cover the annual tuition fee (up to EUR 12,000 in 2024). If the recipient does well in their first year of Master’s studies, the scholarship continues for the second year.
  • Additionally, recipients can attend a summer school in Finland for free, subject to availability. This summer school includes courses on Finnish language, culture, and society, and is approved by the Fulbright Finland Foundation.
  • Recipients can apply for extra funding from the Lois Roth Foundation after arriving in Finland. They also have access to an alumni network and activities organized by the Fulbright Finland Foundation.

  • Only for the citizens of the US are eligible to apply.
  • Students hold a Bachelors Degree can apply.
  • Seniors who don’t have degree in their hand can also apply.
  • Students must be proficient in English.
