Scholarship Description

The CMPA Equity Scholarship at University of Toronto in Canada is open to all nationals. CMPA will provide a total of three (3) equity scholarships to attend the 2024 Family Medicine Forum (FMF) in Vancouver, BC from November 6-9, 2024.

The Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) commits to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). They also recognize the systemic barriers, inequities, and socioeconomic challenges that medical conference participants who are underrepresented may face. As such, we are taking steps to help increase the ability of individuals from equity-deserving groups to contribute their research and knowledge to the healthcare field.

Scholarship Benefits

CMPA will provide a total of three (3) equity scholarships to attend the 2024 Family Medicine Forum (FMF) in Vancouver, BC from November 6-9, 2024. Also, the scholarship will cover individual registration fees (any category) only. Additional costs, such as travel, accommodations, meals, incidentals, etc., are not covered by the scholarship.

Scholarship Eligibility

The CMPA Equity Scholarship at University of Toronto in Canada is open to all nationals. The scholarship is introduced to assist physicians and physician trainees that self-identify as Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) or racialized participants to attend the 2024 Family Medicine Forum (FMF)

  • Write a brief response to how your participation at FMF 2024 would benefit your future and why this is important for you (max 400 words).
  • Include your current résumé.
  • Submit your application in English or French to [email protected] by August 16, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by August 30, 2024.
