Benefits

The benefits of the Bonn SDG Fellowships in Germany are:

1. It provides generous financial support, including a monthly stipend of €3,000 with additional funds of €300 for spouse and €250 per child, if applicable.

2. It also provides a travel allowance depending upon the fellow’s country of origin.

3. Moreover, all scholars also receive an allowance for research expenses of up to €500 per month.

4. The funding is for a period spanning between a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months.

5. In addition, with the Bonn SDG Fellowships, Fellows can collaborate on joint research projects with professors from the University of Bonn. Hence, focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined by the United Nations.

6. Research fellows contribute to academic life in Bonn through activities like public lectures, seminars, and colloquiums.

 

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Bonn SDG Fellowships in Germany are stated below:

1. It is preferably for scholars from Latin America, Africa, and South/East Asia interested in research on SDGs.

2. To be eligible for funding, postdoctoral researchers of foreign nationality are encouraged to collaborate on joint research projects with professors from the University of Bonn.

3. Similarly, these researchers should have an affiliation with a university or research institution in specified regions beyond the fellowship duration, either in research or teaching capacities.

4. All fellows must have expertise in a research area relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) theme of the Bonn SDG Fellowships.

5. The program does not facilitate initial contact between interested fellows and faculty members at the University of Bonn.
