The Cape Tercentenary Foundation, also known as the Cape 300 Foundation, was established in 1950 by brothers Edward and Harry Molteno, who were pioneers of the Cape fruit industry. The foundation's mission is to preserve, promote, and encourage the natural and cultural environment, as well as literature, the visual and performing arts, in the Western, Eastern, and Northern Cape Provinces.
