How do you qualify for CERN internship 2025?
You are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student (not PhD) in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics and should have completed, by the European Summer 2025, at least 6 semesters of full-time studies in the field, at the university level. You will remain registered as a student during your stay at CERN.
How much is the CERN technical student allowance?
This allowance of 3283 Swiss francs per month, net of taxes (CERN has an internal taxation system), is intended to cover the living expenses of a single person in the area. Students who are married and/or with children can benefit under certain conditions from higher allowances.
How difficult is it to get an internship at CERN?
It is more convenient to lose some talent than to assess the capabilities of too many people. Anyway CERN every year is gonna hires only top talents, there are already plenty of good people applying there: for the internships, the acceptance rate is around 5%
Who is eligible for CERN?
Science or Mathematics and should have completed at least three years of full-time studies at the university level. You will remain registered as a student during your stay at CERN. You have not worked at CERN before with any other status (Technical Student, Trainee, User or other status) for more than 3 months.
How long is a CERN internship?
If you’re an undergraduate in Applied Physics, Engineering or Computing and are looking for a practical training period or a place to complete your final project, you could spend 4 to 12 months at CERN during the course of your studies (Bachelor or Master). An extension of up to a maximum of 14 months may be given.
