Youth Climate Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

  • Ages 15–30
  • Nationals of Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Indonesia, Ghana, Gabon, Uganda, or Tanzania
  • Reside in these countries or be migrants or refugees from them
  • Belong to Indigenous, peasant, Afro-descendant, or rural communities, and/or be victims of armed conflict
  • Speak Spanish or English
  • Have experience or involvement in climate or socio-environmental action processes
  • Available to complete all phases of the program, including training and mobilization to COP31
  • If selected and a minor, provide formal authorization from parents or legal guardians and any additional required documentation

In what language is the program developed?

The program can be conducted in Spanish and English. A basic or intermediate level of English is recommended, especially for the international phase.

Where is COP31 being held?

The participation will be in the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will take place in Antalya, Turkey from November 9 to 20, 2026.

What if I am a minor?

If you are a minor, you may apply as long as you are at least 15 years old at the time of the call. If selected, you must provide formal authorization from your parents or legal guardians, as well as comply with any additional requirements and procedures established by applicable national and international regulations for your participation in the program.

What if I don’t speak perfect English?

You don’t need complete fluency, but you do need a foundation that allows you to interact. The Life of Pachamama team will guide you through the process and may tentatively offer a short course for Spanish speakers, which will be held separately.

Is this an internship or a job?

No. It’s a fellowship (training and advocacy grant). It does not include a salary.
