Benefits

The Japanese Government funds all the Expenses during the study. The benefits, like stipend, food, and residence, will be given to students under the Yokohama University MEXT Scholarships 
2026-27, are as follows:

  • Monthly Stipend: For a Master’s Degree, an amount of 144,000 Yen per Month, and for a PhD Degree, an amount of 145,000 Yen Per Month will be provided.
  • Accommodation allowance for International Students.
  • Other Allowances:  Amount of 2,000 or 3,000 Yen Per Month.
  • Non-Regular Students143,000 Yen Per Month
  • Full Tuition Fee.
  • Round-trip airline ticket once a year.
  • Medical Insurance.

Eligibility Criteria

All requirements and conditions listed below have been satisfied to be eligible for the Yokohama University MEXT Scholarships 2026-27

  • All International Students are eligible.
  • For Master’s Degree Programs, one must have an Undergraduate Degree or Equivalent Education.
  • For PhD Degrees, candidates must have a Master’s Degree.
  • Age should not be more than 35 years for Master’s and not more than 40 Years for Doctoral programs.
  • Medically Fit
  • No Criminal Record.

Documents to be Submitted

All the required documents are uploaded carefully during the online application for Yokohama University MEXT Scholarships 2026-27 in Japan. Details of documents are given below:

  • Undergraduate Transcript if you are applying for a Master’s Degree.
  • Master’s Degree Transcript for PhD.
  • Statement of Purpose or Motivational Letter
  • Detailed CV of Two Pages Only.
