Eligibility Criteria

  • The Yale Environmental fellowship is open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA/DREAMers) if applying outside of Yale University.
  • Applicants must have completed at least one year of a graduate or doctoral program before the start of the summer placement.
  • Moreover, they must hold a bachelor’s degree and be currently enrolled in a graduate program in the United States with a focus on environmental studies or related fields.
  • Students graduating in the 2025–2026 academic year are also eligible to apply for the 2026 cohort.
  • Fellows must be available to participate full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) for the 12-week program, including orientation sessions and the New Horizons in Conservation convening.
  • International students are not eligible, except for those currently enrolled at Yale University.
  • Candidates should also show a strong interest and commitment to environmental issues to be eligible for this fellows program.
