Wilson Center Fellowship Program 2026-27 is now accepting applications from scholars, journalists, practitioners, and public intellectuals across the globe. This prestigious U.S. fellowship offers a remarkable chance to conduct independent research at the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars in Washington, D.C. As a postdoctoral opportunity, it welcomes outstanding candidates willing to explore policy issues, international relations, history, and related fields. Eligible international applicants will benefit from the Center’s extensive resources, including comprehensive libraries and databases, while having the chance to gain valuable experience and exposure in a global research environment.

Over nine months, fellows will engage deeply with policy‑relevant, non‑advocacy research and collaborate with policymakers, Center staff, and fellow scholars in residence. Eligibility Criteria

• The fellowship is open to all national citizens and permanent residents of the USA.
• International applicants are also eligible to apply but must have a valid passport and be eligible to get a J-1 visa.
• Applicants must have a PhD and have published a monograph or book beyond the Ph.D. dissertation.
• Policymakers and practitioners with an equivalent level of professional achievement are eligible to apply.
• Applicants must be proficient in English proficiency as the center encourages the exchange of knowledge and ideas among its fellows.

How to Apply?

• You must complete the official application form.
• You need a current CV (no more than three pages) listing your publications separately.
• Include a full list of your publications (with titles, publishers, publication dates, and status of forthcoming works), also no more than three pages.
• Write a project proposal (maximum five single-spaced pages, 12‑point font) explaining your research question, methodology, importance, originality, and why you chose this center.
• Add a bibliography for your proposal showing primary and relevant secondary sources (up to three pages).
• Submit two letters of reference. References must be sent directly by your referees, in English, and they should comment on your qualifications and the proposed project.
