UQGRSS Scholarship provides a living stipend and tuition support for postgraduate research candidates undertaking a PhD, MPhil or research doctorate at The University of Queensland. The UQGRSS Scholarship supports your research candidature with a tax-free living stipend (2026 rate) and single OSHC to help you focus on your research.
The scholarship is administered by the Graduate Research School at The University of Queensland (UQ). The Graduate Research School manages nominations, eligibility assessment, scholarship rounds and outcomes for domestic and international HDR applicants at UQ.

- In your EOI, complete the ‘Scholarship/Sponsorship’ section with the following details: Are you applying for an advertised project: ‘No’; Are you applying for (or have you been awarded) a non-UQ scholarship or sponsorship: ‘No’; Domestic students only – select whether you would like to be considered for a living stipend scholarship in addition to a tuition fee scholarship.
- While EOIs are accepted year-round, applications will only be considered for scholarship assessment within the scholarship round dates outlined below.
- Submit an EOI via the application portal (Submit an EOI).
- As a currently enrolled HDR candidate you may apply via the round dates and complete the online application form for enrolled HDR student nomination.
- You will be asked to supply details of your candidature, details of your Principal Advisor, current CV and two referees.
- Once submitted your Principal Advisor will be sent a form to support your application and your referees will be asked to complete a referee report.
