Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the 2026 UNESCO IHE Delft Rotary Scholarships, you must:

  • The application process is as follows: Rotarians interview and select from local candidates who have already been academically admitted at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education’s MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development, to one of the following thematic tracks:
  • Water and Health
  • Water, Food and Energy
  • Water Resources and Ecosystems Health
  • Water Hazards, Risks and Climate
  • When the candidate is deemed suitable, the sponsoring Rotary Club submits (together with the candidate) a fully completed application form to the joint Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee (details can be found below), copied to the District Governor and District Rotary Foundation Chair of their district.
  • When a Rotary scholarship has been awarded, the sponsoring Rotary Clubs maintains contact with the scholar throughout his or her studies. The financing of the successful candidates will be managed through Rotary’s Global Grant process.

How To Apply?

  • First, secure admission to the IHE Delft Master of Science Programme in Water and Sustainable Development. Only admitted students can be nominated for the Rotary Scholarship.
  • After receiving your admission letter, approach a local Rotary Club in your home community and request their sponsorship for this scholarship.
  • Work with the Rotary Club to complete the official Rotary-IHE Delft Scholarship Application Form. Make sure the form is fully completed and supported by the club. Incomplete or unsupported applications are not eligible.
  • Prepare the required documents, including your resume and your IHE Delft admission letter, and ensure they are attached to the application.
  • The sponsoring Rotary Club must submit your full application by email to the Rotary/IHE Delft Committee in the Netherlands at: [email protected]. They must also copy their District Governor and District Rotary Foundation Chair.
  • Submit all materials before the deadline. Applications received after this date will not be reviewed.
  • The official Rotary-IHE Delft application form will be provided on the IHE Delft website soon. This form will include detailed instructions and the scholarship’s terms and conditions.
