TTIC PhD Scholarship 2027 in USA | Fully Funded

TTIC PhD Scholarship 2027 supports admitted PhD students in computer science with full tuition and guaranteed stipends. The TTIC PhD Scholarship offers additional support such as health insurance, travel funding, and a computing equipment grant for new students.

The scholarship is provided by the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC), an institute focused on world-class research and education in fundamental computer science and information technology. TTIC administers admissions, financial assistance, and student support for the PhD program.

What funding does the TTIC PhD Scholarship provide?

When can I apply for the TTIC PhD Scholarship program?

Applications are accepted only between October 7 and January 15. To receive full consideration, applications must be received by December 9. In exceptional cases applications may be considered outside these dates, typically when a prospective student has already been working with TTIC faculty.

Is there an application fee for the TTIC PhD program?

There is NO APPLICATION FEE to apply for TTIC’s PhD program. Applicants should complete the online application form embedded on the Student Application page and follow instructions to submit all required materials.

What are the requirements to apply?

Applicants should hold an American Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent foreign degree, and should have strong quantitative and analytical skills. Additional program and academic requirements are detailed in the Academic Program Guide linked on the site.

What are the English language requirements?

International applicants who are not native English speakers or who have not studied at least one academic year in certain English-language countries must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. Minimum TOEFL iBT is 92 (PBT 580); minimum IELTS overall is 7 with no subsection below 7. Conditional admissions with lower scores require completion of designated University of Chicago English Language Institute courses.

Are GRE scores required?

TTIC does not require applicants to report GRE scores. Applicants should focus on meeting the stated academic and English proficiency requirements and submitting all other required application materials and references.

How and where should transcripts be submitted?

Digital transcripts may be sent to etranscripts@ttic.edu via an approved electronic transcript provider, the school’s official secure portal, or as a PDF with a verifiable cryptographic digital signature. Hard-copy official transcripts must be original, signed, sealed, and mailed to TTIC Admissions at 6045 S. Kenwood Ave., Chicago, IL 60637 U.S.A.

When will I hear back about my application?

Applicants who apply by December 9 can expect to hear a decision by March 1. For applications submitted at other times, expect up to three months after application completion (including receipt of letters and supporting documents) to hear a response.

What happens if application materials are incomplete?

The application is generally considered complete and evaluation begins only after all materials, including reference letters and transcripts, are received. An application might be rejected if all material is not received within two months. Contact admissions@ttic.edu if difficulties arise.

How do I start the application?

Fill out the online application form embedded on the Student Application page (the page includes an embedded Populi application form). After starting the form you will receive an email to continue accessing and completing your application until it is finished.
