The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship 2027-28 in Belgium | Fully Funded

The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship 2027-28 supports outstanding incoming Master’s students through full tuition waivers and allowances. The KU Leuven Scholarship helps high-achieving students pursue eligible master’s programmes and covers a scholarship amount and fee waiver as specified by the university.

The scholarship is financed by the KU Leuven International Scholarship Fund and is awarded via the university’s scholarships application procedure. The provider administers selection, nomination and further steps such as a short motivational video for nominated candidates.

The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship Benefits

• Recipients of the Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship receive a full tuition fee waiver and only pay an annual administration fee of circa €140.
• Incoming students will receive a scholarship of € 13,200 per academic year, for a maximum of two academic years.
• The duration of the scholarship is one academic year for a 60 ECTS master’s programme and two academic years for a 120 ECTS master’s programme.

The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Master’s programmes.

• All nationalities are eligible.
• The student demonstrates a high level of academic performance and potential. Their excellent study results are reflected in their high Grade Point Average (GPA), as shown on their transcript of records.
• Previous degrees must have been obtained at a higher education institution outside Flanders. International students who have completed a credit mobility programme at a Flemish higher education institution are still eligible for an Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship.
• Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate a good knowledge of and command of the English language. The language test must be taken before the application deadline of 15 January.
• Students who are already enrolled at a Flemish higher education institution are not eligible. The only exception is international students who, when they apply for a scholarship in the spring of 2027, are enrolled on a specific preparatory programme in order to start their master’s programme in September 2027.
• Students are not allowed to combine the KU Leuven Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship with another full scholarship offered by KU Leuven, the Belgian national or regional governments, or the European Commission.

How to Apply for The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship

• Step 1 : Submit a complete application file for an eligible master’s programme before 15 January 2027, 23.59 CET, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form as an annexe. This annexe should be uploaded to the application tool under the document type “Annexe “. Download the Candidacy Form here.
• Step 2 : Register your scholarship candidacy using the online registration tool before 15 January 2027, 23.59 CET.
• After nomination: If you have been nominated as a candidate, you will be informed by 10 March 2027 at the latest and will be asked to submit a one-minute motivational video by 16 March 2027.
