Yale Young Global Scholars Program

Scholarships in USA

The Yale Young Global Scholars Program (YYGS) is a highly competitive pre-college summer program hosted by Yale University for outstanding high school students from around the world. This intensive academic experience brings together diverse young leaders to engage in interdisciplinary coursework, collaborative projects, and intellectual discussions on global issues. Participants select from various academic tracks such as Politics, Law & Economics; Science & Technology; or Sustainable Development & Social Entrepreneurship. The program emphasizes critical thinking, leadership development, and cross-cultural exchange through seminars, lectures, and hands-on activities led by Yale faculty and visiting scholars. YYGS aims to prepare students for future academic success and global citizenship by fostering a supportive community of peers and mentors. Students live on Yale’s historic campus in New Haven, Connecticut, gaining firsthand exposure to university life while building networks that often extend beyond the program. The application process is rigorous, requiring strong academic records, essays, and recommendations. Financial aid is available to ensure accessibility for qualified students regardless of economic background. YYGS alumni frequently cite the program as transformative in shaping their educational and career aspirations.
