WAAW Foundation Scholarship

The WAAW (Working to Advance African Women) Foundation Scholarship is a prestigious award program designed to support female African students pursuing undergraduate studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Established to address the gender gap in STEM education across Africa, this scholarship provides financial assistance, mentorship, and leadership training to empower the next generation of African women in technology and innovation. Eligible applicants must be female students of African origin currently enrolled in accredited universities in Africa, maintaining strong academic records and demonstrating financial need. The scholarship covers tuition, books, and other educational expenses, with amounts varying based on individual circumstances. Beyond financial support, recipients gain access to WAAW Foundation’s network of professionals, participate in annual leadership conferences, and engage in community development projects. The application process typically opens in spring, with deadlines in November, requiring submission of academic transcripts, recommendation letters, and personal essays. This comprehensive program not only funds education but also builds a supportive community of African women in STEM who are equipped to drive technological advancement and economic growth across the continent.
